Save the Date: SVG’s TranSPORT Conference To Be Held Oct. 17 at NYC’s Microsoft Technology Center

The 2017 TranSPORT conference will once again give sports-production professionals the opportunity to come together for a half day of networking and sessions focused on the current state of sports-content contribution, exchange, and distribution. Set to be held on Oct. 17 at the Microsoft Technology Center in New York City, this year’s TranSPORT will be chaired by Keith Goldberg, VP, global operations and transmission services, Fox Networks Group. Goldberg takes over for outgoing SVG TranSPORT Advisory Committee Chair.

“Under the exemplary guidance and direction of Emory, we’ve experienced tremendous growth and expansion year over year. His leadership and support has set the bar high and has created standards we all strive for,” says Goldberg. “With the breakneck speed in which the technology around our industry is evolving, there is no more important time for us to collaborate and continue to leverage technology advancements to determine how we deliver content efficiently while maintaining consideration for scale, speed, and quality. Collectively, we are all faced with challenges to ensure operational efficiency, especially with the varying formats and capabilities between linear and OTT platforms.”

TranSPORT 2017 will once again address the industry’s most pressing issues, including the current fiber vs. satellite market-share, maturation of HEVC, the state of and 4K and HDR transmission, the impact of “at-home-production” workflows, the rise of IP networks and backhaul via the open internet, cellular bonding, OTT and streaming technology, and more. The following sessions will be featured in the program:

  • The State of TranSPORT: Inside the Numbers
  • How Is At-Home Production Impacting the Transmission Sector?
  • The Explosion of IP Contribution: Is It Ready for Primetime?
  • HDR and 4K UHD Transmission: Where Are We?
  • Low-Cost Transmission Tools: Bonded Cellular, Public-Internet Delivery, the Cloud, and More

“The amazing wealth of shared expertise and enthusiasm the Transport conference attracts will continue to provide engaging discussion to help poise us for whatever the future holds,” adds Goldberg. “I look forward to continuing the momentum.”
