SVG On Demand: Mark Friedman Examines Graphics of NBC Sports Washington’s ‘Predict the Game’

At the beginning of 2019, NBC Sports Washington debuted their new “Predict the Game” sports betting experience for the first time during a Washington Wizards vs. Milwaukee Bucks game. On the alternative viewing option within the RSN’s streaming platform, the stream integrated a wide array of graphics that displayed odds, prop bets, in-game scenarios, real-time betting data, and a leaderboard to track their progress.

At the 2019 SVG Sports Graphics Forum, Mark Friedman, director, creative services and advanced technology, NBC Sports Washington, touched upon the creative process of developing the on-air graphics package, what tools he leveraged to implement them during the broadcast, and how a sports betting layout may look in the future.
