Duke’s Jack Coombs Field Gets New Daktronics LED Videoboard for 2019 Baseball Season

Daktronics has partnered with Duke University to design, manufacture, and install a new LED video scoreboard at Jack Coombs Field in Durham, North Carolina. The installation was completed in early in 2019 and is ready for Blue Devils baseball this season.

The new outfield video display measures approximately 23 ft. high by 35 ft. wide and features a 15HD pixel layout, the same technology that is used at numerous professional baseball stadiums. The display provides crisp, clear imagery with wide angle visibility to appeal to every seat in the stadium. Industry-leading environmental protection keeps the display operating through wind, rain, and sunshine.

“The new video display at Jack Coombs Field will bring a new feel to the already great stadium experience for Duke baseball fans,” says Corey Williams, Daktronics sales representative. “It’s an honor to build upon our long-standing partnership with Duke University.”

The display is capable of variable content zoning allowing it to show one large image or to be divided into multiple zones to show any combination of live video, instant replays, up-to-the-minute statistics and game information, graphics and animations, and sponsorship messages.

In addition to the equipment installation, Duke will also receive a content package that will be produced and delivered by Daktronics Creative Services.
