MEDIAPRO Launches OneSoccer Streaming Service in Canada

On Friday, MEDIAPRO Canada launched the new OneSoccer streaming service, offering a range of subscription options to users. All coverage will be produced by MEDIAPRO Canada, the parent company of OneSoccer. Earlier this year, Canadian Soccer Business (CSB) announced a 10-year ‘official media partnership’ with MEDIAPRO.

Users can subscribe to the service on a month-to-month basis for $9.99 per month, with the first month free. Single-day rates (lasting 24 hours) for matches will be available for purchase at a cost of $5.99. The ‘League Pass’ option offers subscribers the OneSoccer service at a cost of $74.99 for the year, with a special rate of $49.99 for Canadian Premier League club season ticket holders. The service will give all subscribers coverage of more than 130 matches in 2019, including pre- and post-match analysis and half times shows around every match. Additionally, the service will feature weekly news and highlights shows, magazine shows and additional exclusive original programming. Some 100 matches will be exclusive to the OneSoccer service.

The new 24/7 LIVE and on-demand streaming channel will be available free of charge through onesoccer.ca for the first month, providing live coverage of 25 Canadian Premier League and Canadian Championship matches, as well as one Canada Soccer Women’s National Team friendly match against Mexico, through to the end of May. During this period, 20 of the 25 matches will be covered exclusively on OneSoccer.

All matches will be produced by MEDIAPRO Canada, which is raising the bar for television coverage of soccer in Canada, with live studios shows, high-level production, a respected on-air talent team, knowledgeable guest analysts and hours of original programming.

The action starts on OneSoccer at 12pm ET on Saturday 27th, when host Asa Rehman kicks off a 60-minute pre-match show leading up to live coverage of the first-ever Canadian Premier League match, between Forge FC and York9 FC at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton. Studio guests include Alex Bunbury, former Canada Soccer men’s national team standout and soccer TV analyst, and Kurt Larson, director of content and managing editor at the CPL.

Covering the action in the stadium for OneSoccer will be well-known sports personality Andi Petrillo, while respected soccer broadcaster Gareth Wheeler and former Canadian international Terry Dunfield will provide live match commentary.

On Sunday 28th, OneSoccer will turn its focus to the West Coast, where Vancouver Island’s Pacific FC takes on HFX Wanderers FC of Halifax – the first-ever ‘coast-to-coast’ matchup between two Canadian professional sports teams.

Rehman will host a live 30-minute pre-match show, including coverage of Pacific’s opening ceremony extravaganza, and he’ll be joined by studio guests Terry Dunfield and Kurt Larson. Match commentary will be provided by well-known soccer commentator Peter Schaad, with analysis from Clare Rustad, former Canada Soccer women’s national team player.

Coverage of the Pacific FC v HFX Wanderers FC match will be aired live and exclusively worldwide on OneSoccer.ca.
