NFL Draft 2019: Ross Video Drives VWSE’s On-Site Videoboard Production in Nashville

Ross Video once again worked with Van Wagner Sports and Entertainment (VWSE) to drive coverage of the North American Football League’s annual draft in Nashville.

The NFL Draft took over Lower Broadway in Nashville.

As part of the video production, VWSE deployed the Ultrix routing/AV processing platform, Carbonite Mosaic video processor and XPression Tessera real-time graphics rendering solution to drive all the on-set LED displays (a total pixel count of 28 Million – the largest Tessera deployment to date), with everything being controlled via Ross Video’s DashBoard software control system.

Ross also supplied Carbonite production switchers to cut live concert segments, as well as XPression Studio graphics to provide content to the many large LED displays temporarily installed across six city blocks for the fans that have travelled to Nashville for the event. In addition, a fan experience production – being held at the Nissan Stadium not far from the main draft stage on First and Broadway – was also driven by a host of Ross Sports Venue Solutions.

“Van Wagner’s longstanding relationship with Ross allows us to push the limits on many of our one-off events, giving us the ability to utilize technology and workflows typically seen only in permanent applications,” says Nate McCourt, Producer with VWSE. “Leveraging the power of XPression Tessera’s real-time render engine and Dashboard Control allows us to dynamically update numerous graphic looks for all 32 teams at the push of a button.”

Kevin Cottam, Ross Video’s Director of Sports & Live Events adds: “We have collaborated with VWSE and the league on many high profile events over the years and we’re proud of what we have been able to accomplish through our partnership; these types of events show our commitment to live production and our breadth of solutions that enable the kind of high impact, high efficiency production VWSE and the league need to deliver to their fans”.
