MEDIAPRO To Produce UEFA Champions League Final in Madrid

The UEFA Champions League Final is one of the most-watched televised sporting events in the world. The MEDIAPRO Group has been chosen by UEFA as the host broadcaster for the production and distribution of the host match signal, an event watched worldwide and scheduled to be held in the Metropolitano stadium in Madrid this coming Saturday, June 1.

A potential audience of 400 million viewers, three Outside Broadcast units, more than 150 professionals and 42 cameras, including 8 super slow-mo, 2 ultra slow-mo, 2 traveling cameras behind the goals, 2 ultra slow-mo Pole cams, aerial cam, 5 tactical Replay cams, 3 beauty shot cameras, 2 net cameras, 2 cameras focused on fans in the stands, 7 cameras to cover the teams’ arrival, and 5 tunnel cameras to cover players entering and leaving the pitch. The technology and equipment will ensure the highest quality for the signal distributed internationally.

The match will be produced in 4K and HD quality in simulcast, the second final after Kiev to be produced with simultaneous broadcasting in both quality formats. Òscar Lago Domínguez, one of the sporting directors who has a wealth of experience with the competition, will be in charge of match direction on the day. Lago was the sports match director for the UEFA Champions League final in 2010 in Madrid.

The MEDIAPRO Group was also responsible for producing the international signal for the UEFA Champions League Final in 2010 which was held at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium and was commissioned by Sport TV for the Production and distribution of the host signal of the UEFA Champions League Final at the Da Luz stadium in Lisbon in 2014.
