Ross Video Lands Largest Canadian National Innovation Funding Ever

Ross Video is being awarded project funding of up to CA$ 5 million by the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP) in recognition of Ross Video’s focus on innovation and to help provide a catalyst for further growth.

ossThis grant has been made possible thanks to the Canadian Government’s 2018 budget decision to fund NRC IRAP to the tune of $700 million over a five-year period, and this support has in turn enabled NRC IRAP to increase its maximum funding threshold from $1 million to $10 million. The award to Ross Video is both the largest contribution agreement in IRAP’s history to date and the first in NRC IRAP’s $3 to $5 million funding envelope.

The award will formally take place at 1:30 PM on August 15 2019 during a ceremony at the Ross Video campus in Ottawa. Ross Video’s senior executives, and R&D staff, will assemble with distinguished guests from NRC, to witness David Ross, Ross Video CEO, receive the grant from Mr. Iain Stewart, President of NRC IRAP, and Grégory Fruchet, Industrial Technology Advisor, NRC IRAP.

“Canada has a proud history of technological innovation and the Canadian government has helped domestic companies expand on to the global stage with progressive initiatives such as NRC IRAP,” says David Ross. “We’re very pleased to receive this funding which will bolster our R&D function, create jobs and allow us to engineer the next generation of technologies for the global broadcast and live production markets. Its effects will be felt well beyond Canadian shores.”
