NAB NY 2019: EEG Video To Debut New Closed Captioning Solutions

EEG Video has announced the U.S. debut of new closed captioning solutions for broadcasters, content creators, and post-production professionals at NAB Show New York 2019. This year’s convention will be held October 16-17 at the Jacob K. Javits Center of New York.

Here is what attendees can expect to see from EEG at this year’s NAB Show NY:

Lexi Local
NAB NY marks the first US exhibition of Lexi Local, the on-premises, off-the-cloud version of EEG’s automatic captioning service, Lexi. Lexi Local delivers live automatic closed captions in English, Spanish, and French.

Customers currently use Lexi Local’s companion product, Lexi, to quickly and accurately provide closed captions for live content. With Lexi Local, companies requiring elevated protection over their data and caption meetings and events off the cloud.

iCap Falcon
EEG will also demonstrate their live-streaming caption encoder, iCap Falcon. Completely hardware-free, Falcon is the first and only cloud-hosted encoder to offer broadcast-style caption embedding directly into live streaming video across all commercial video streaming platforms.

Recent additions to Falcon include an optional SSL encrypted input and output using RTMPS (Real-Time Messaging Protocol Secure), with HLS output also available. In addition, Falcon now provides simpler step-by-step setup of ingest and output streaming settings, with the ability to save an unlimited number of streaming settings profiles for repeated use. Additionally, live video player previews with captioning are now available.

iCap Alta
Finally, EEG will be showing iCap Alta, a fully virtualized captioning solution for live IP video workflows. Alta has a flexible deployment model and can be delivered as a virtual machine, in the cloud, or as a software library for custom integration.

Alta Network Interface hardware, the first full hybrid SDI VANC and 2110-40 IP closed captioning encoder, will also be on display at NAB Show NY. The Alta Network Interface combines core capabilities of EEG’s industry-standard HD492 iCap encoder and iCap Alta. Featuring SDI VANC and SMPTE 2110-40 Ancillary Data Insertion in one high-performance box, the Alta Network Interface can create CEA-708 or OP-47 captioning packets, SCTE-104 triggers, time code, and many other ancillary data packets for SDI or IP video.
