Avid CEO & President Jeff Rosica Reaches Out to Customers in Light of Coronavirus Pandemic

Avid CEO & President Jeff Rosica has reached out to their customers in light of the coronavirus pandemic:

The COVID–19 pandemic is truly an unprecedented situation that is affecting our industry, our businesses, our communities, our families, and literally our way of life around the globe. On behalf of everyone on the Avid team, I want to extend our heartfelt wishes to anyone who has been impacted by this virus outbreak, either directly or indirectly. These are challenging times indeed, but times like these remind us that we’re all connected and we’re all in this together!

During this time, I wanted to reach out to our key customers to update you on how we’re working to help you navigate this crisis, as well as give you a brief status update on how Avid is approaching the situation and staying prepared to best support you.

A lot of productions, broadcasters, and media enterprises around the globe are facing unprecedented and profound impacts to their business, including scrambling to keep productions or the business going during this unfolding situation.

I want you to know that the Avid team is here and ready to help in any way that we can. Here are a few ways we’re mobilizing to help your organization stay productive, no matter where your teams need to work, or what specific impacts you’re facing.

  • Offering Free Duplicate Licenses to Enable Creative Users to Work from Home
For qualified customers who are impacted by facility closures or need to temporarily enable remote workers, we’re providing free 90-day licenses of our creative tools (Media Composer, Pro Tools, and Sibelius) to enable your creative team members to continue getting their work done remotely. Please read this document for eligibility details and instructions.
  • Enabling Unique Remote Workflow Solutions for Your Avid Environment
Customers who are using Avid platforms to create, manage, store, or distribute content can easily tap into capabilities to extend news, sports, and post-production workflows with remote production and collaboration at scale. Many clients can achieve this rather quickly based on simply extending their current infrastructure with some additional tools that are available from Avid.

For more information, please refer to these documents outlining solutions for broadcast and media workflows as well as available remote options for Media Composer and Pro Tools. You can also contact your local Avid representative for help and guidance.

  • Implementing Advanced Cloud Solutions to Protect & Expand Your Workflows
Enterprises that are looking to more substantially address and mitigate the business continuity issues they’re facing today, as well as protect against future disruptions like this one, can leverage more advanced cloud strategies or SaaS-based solutions. Avid’s cloud specialists can consult with you to explore immediate options, leveraging the work we’ve already done to help other media companies move their workflows into the cloud.

You can request a consultation on a cloud solution to help address your concerns, and our team will respond and engage within 24 hours.

What You Can Expect in the Near Term
Avid is taking all appropriate measures to safeguard our employees and workplaces, as well as to ensure business and supply–chain continuity, and to make sure that we can properly support our customers and partners every day. While the impacts so far have been manageable, the situation has been fluid and evolving almost daily. We remain focused on being proactive to mitigate and minimize any potential disruptions or delays to our customers and partners.

That said, we do expect some level of disruption, including possible delays in scheduled deliveries due to component availability and restricted freight transportation, as well as potential delays in projects or delivery of services due to travel restrictions. In any event, we do encourage our customers to anticipate any of their product or service needs earlier than they have typically, especially for important or critical projects, as we may experience delays of up to 6-8 weeks or more. If you have any concerns at all during this period, please immediately contact your local Avid representative.

Our Commitment to Our Community
These are trying times, but the safety of every member of our community, including you and your employees, is our priority. We will also do whatever we can to help make your difficult business decisions a bit smoother and addressing the big challenges you’re facing a bit easier.

We’ll continue to share tips, suggestions, and solutions for helping you manage things during these difficult times, and keep you updated with updates on our web page: www.avid.com/covid-19. We also value your questions, thoughts, and feedback, so please feel free to reach out.
