ESPN2, Telemundo To Carry EA Sports FIFA 20 Stay and Play Cup

The EA Sports FIFA 20 Stay and Play Cup, part of EA’s “Stay Home, Play Together”, will be televised on ESPN2 and streamed on the ESPN App and in Spanish on Telemundo Deportes’ digital and social channels. The tournament, which was announced last week and is taking place April 15-19, will consist of a head-to-head knockout tournament featuring 20 professional footballers nominated by each club from Ajax, AS Roma, Chelsea, FC Copenhagen, Liverpool, Porto, Real Madrid, and more. More than 20 hours of play will be broadcast across the EA SPORTS FIFA Twitch and YouTube channels and various broadcast partners, including ESPN2 and Telemundo in the U.S.

“We want to bring the global football community together with the EA SPORTS FIFA 20 Stay and Play Cup, so millions of fans can experience the thrill of their favorite clubs and professional footballers playing — even when we have to be apart,” says Andrew Wilson, CEO of Electronic Arts. “As part of ‘Stay Home, Play Together,’ we’re working to help people around the world find more ways to connect through play. Combined with relief contributions we are making, we hope to make a positive impact in people’s lives during this challenging time.”

The tournament runs Wednesday, April 15 – Sunday, April 19. Four matches take place every day with the semifinals and Grand Final on Sunday, April 19. Coverage will be available on EA SPORTS FIFA Twitch and YouTube channels; ESPN2 and the ESPN App; and livestreamed in spanish on the Telemundo Deportes app, TelemundoDeportes.com and Telemundo Deportes’ Twitter, Facebook, Twitch and Youtube, starting Wednesday at noon ET.

“We are committed to continue serving our sports fans with entertaining live and original content during this challenging period,” said Ray Warren, President of Telemundo Deportes. “We are excited to add the Stay and Play Cup to our esports offering, giving fans the opportunity to experience the thrill of their favorite clubs and stars playing while leagues are on hiatus.”

Telemundo Deportes’ experts Sammy Sadovnik and Eduardo Biscayart will lead coverage.
