FingerWorks Ups Its Telestration Game for Return of PGA Tour

With the PGA Tour back in action, FingerWorks has teed up several enhancements to the telestration tools it provides for the broadcast. With the latest edition of the FingerWorks software, FingerWorks Fusion, and the new Live Social Media interface, the company is providing viewers with deeper analysis of the action on the course than ever before.

FingerWorks Fusion, now in its 4th season as part of CBS Sports’ PGA Tour coverage, supports live data services that are parsed for specific statistical graphics. In this case, PGA ShotLink data is received remotely to the FingerWorks Fusion server on-site, which is driven with the Smartcart SVX touchscreen.

In advance of the restart of the tour, the broadcaster also upgraded to the new FingerWorks 6 software.

With CBS Sports moving its replay systems to Burbank, CA to keep staff to a minimum on site, Fingerworks is providing clip ingest and control from Burbank to the FingerWorks Fusion server on site. These are clips then embedded in the Fusion ShotLink interface for Amanda Balionis to select and control live.

This PGA season, Fingerworks has also added a Live Social Media interface allowing, Balionis or any other production staff, to curate Instagram and Twitter assets, push them to the FingerWorks Fusion server on site. From there they can be placed directly on air to augment the specific player analysis and discussions. clips embedded in the Social media assets are supported with one touch play pause controls. This is achieved with the new FingerWorks Cloud interface that can be accessed from any web enabled device.
