NBC and MediaZone partnership offers U.S. Audiences Broadband Coverage Of Wimbledon

For the first time in the U.S., the Tennis championships at Wimbledon will be available through extensive broadband coverage. MediaZone, the official Worldwide Broadband Partner of Wimbledon, will partner with NBC Sports in the United States to offer live and on-demand Internet broadcasts for more than 250 matches from up to nine concurrent courts via its Wimbledon LIVE service at http://www.wimbledon.org/live.
NBC, in its 38th consecutive year as the broadcast home of Wimbledon, annually presents the Gentlemen’s and Ladies’ Finals, and this year will drive traffic to the Wimbledon LIVE service for other tournament matches.
“As a long-standing broadcast partner with the All England Lawn Tennis Club, we regard Wimbledon as one of the marquee events on the NBC Sports schedule,” said Gary Zenkel, president, NBC Olympics and executive vice president, strategic partnerships, NBC Sports. NBC continuously looks to extend to as many U.S. tennis enthusiasts as possible.
Programming will be available to stream or download to a PC or portable media device. Wimbledon LIVE, which will be integrated with the official Wimbledon site, http://www.wimbledon.org, features three free live Radio Wimbledon channels, 10 hours of classic Wimbledon matches, match highlights, and player interviews. Wimbledon LIVE will also be offered through Wimbledon.MSNBC.com.
