BLT Italia taps into Sony slo-mo

BLT Italia s HDTV SMS-400HD video server can now interface with Sony s high-speed HDC-3300 SuperMotion camera. The two together pack a powerful tapeless HD punch, recording at up to 180 frames per second to deliver high-quality HD slow-motion images.

The server records at full-resolution 1920x1080i and uses 10-bit 4:2:2 JPEG2000 compression. It also performs the intrafield compressionmode, a must for live sport and other high-speed recording applications.

It also didn’t take long for BLT Italia to land a client as Italian OB van operator Telerecord in Florence will add four of the Sony/BLT systems to its fleet.
