EVS lands Aussie new media deal

Chief Entertainment, Australia’s fastest growing new media content production company, has appointed EVS Broadcast Equipment to provide them with an integrated solution for the ingest and the playout of a online streaming service.

Chief Entertainment are in charge of producing the new music and sport highlights on BigPond TV for BigPond, Australia’s largest Internet service provider part of Telstra Corporation

EVS, the instant tapeless technology manufacturer, provided the new media service provider with a combined hardware and software solution for the ingest and the scheduled playout of audio and video streams. The system is based on one XT[2] production & playout server configured with 1 A/V input capable of live recording and 3 outputs respectively for the music and sport highlights and for editing without disturbing the playout channels, combined with the AirBox, video playout software application developed by EVS. The system, which has been operating since October 6, is also used to export the on-air playlists into the BigPond Electronic Program Guide (EPG) to generate a dynamic online schedule for BigPond TV.
