NVISION Showcases HD H.264 At NAB 07

At NAB 07,
(Booth #SU9605),

NVISION will emphasize its broad range of best-in-class broadcast technologies for HD, 3Gb/s-enabled audio/video router, router control and master control systems to be used in the distribution of programming by terrestrial (large networks, local stations), mobile trucks, satellite, cable, telecommunications, IPTV, as well as film post production.

New – HD H.264 Encoder: NVISION will demo its new HD H.264 Encoder that uses breakthrough video processing technology based on the H.264 compression standard to deliver low-latency, high-quality, artifact-free HD video at bit rates of 6 to 12 Mbps for building cost-effective HDTV services. These low bit rates enable more HD channels to be squeezed within the defined bandwidth, thus providing an opportunity for broadcast providers – satellite, cable, terrestrial (TV networks and local stations) IPTV, and telecommunications – to increase revenue per distribution channel. H.264, also known as MPEG-4 Part 10/AVC (Advanced Video Coding) MPEG4/H.264, is a video compression standard that offers significantly greater, or more efficient, compression than its predecessors.

NV5128-MC Master Control:
The first master control to combine digital master control and multi-format routing in the same frame. Because there’s less hardware, the NV5128-MC costs far less than separate master control and routing switchers, and with only 8RU facilities save on valuable rack space. The system features optional built-in Dolby E decoding and a host of standard features that include A/B mixing with full auto transition control, multi-level video keying, logo store, 2-picture ‘squeezeback’, audio over mixer, and more. The demonstration will showcase the system’s latest customer options for building a master control system that meets their needs today and is scaleable for the future.

Five signal processors:

SD-only master control processing module (MCPM)
HD-only MCPM
SD/HD MCPM with enhanced squeeze
SD mixer/keyer
HD mixer/keyer

Four control surfaces:

Full-size, full-function control panel (FFCP)
Compact, full-function control panel (CFCP)

NEW – 3RU simple control panel, for manual operation when needed
Touch-screen graphical user interface

Intro at NAB 07:
In addition to the above Master Control products the company will introduce a new family of products with features that include: Full 16 channel audio processing, Optional preview and aux buses, SD/HD upgradeability and interoperability with current product line

New: NV9000-SE Java-based Utility:
Field proven in hundreds of installations, the NV9000 Router Control System retains its robust and scalable architecture, and now includes an all-new Java-based NV9000-SE configuration utility, which gives users a new simplified, intuitive, and powerful interface. The NV9000-SE makes it easy for first time users to exploit the advanced capabilities of the NV9000 field proven software, while simultaneously providing quick, out-of-the-box experience for basic operations. Wi-Fi GUI control and other distributed control options will be on display.

NVISION also announces more control panels for easier operation by the user:

New – NV9640 Control Panel
: 2RU panel (2.5″ deep) with 30 relegendable LCD buttons that are configured as a decision tree to guide the user through the applicable source choices.

New – NV9641 Control Panel:
1RU LCD control panel with 16 relegendable LCD buttons that are configured as a decision tree to guide the user through the applicable source choices.

NV8256-Plus Digital Video Router:
Installations around the world use the NV8256-Plus for mission critical applications in which downtime is not allowed and where NVISION’s world leading HD-SDI SWB (Super Wide Band) signal transport technology is required. The NV8256-Plus easily expands from 256×256 to 512×512 without distribution amplifiers. Start with a single 256×256 frame, and grow the system with a second frame to 512×512 by simply adding modules. Future proofing includes support for HD-SDI, SDI and analog signals in either 525 or 625 line formats and 3Gb/s capability. Most importantly, NV8256-Plus includes NVISION

s patented N-On-1 redundant crosspoint technology.

NV8288 Digital Video Router:
The ‘smallest big router in the world’ is ideal for mobile production trucks or facilities, such as Telegenic in the

UK. The NV8288 capitalizes on newly available components to enable a high-performance router at half the size, weight, and power consumption of other routers on the market today. It incorporates NVISION’s world leading HD-SDI SWB (Super Wide Band) signal transport technology, delivers unprecedented density with exceptional signal quality, and can be future proofed with 3Gb/s capability. HD-SDI, and SDI composite monitor outputs offer complete format flexibility. A 288 x 576 router requires only 10 RU and just 12 inches of depth in a standard EIA 19 inch rack. 576 x 576 is just 10 RU more.

CR Series of Compact Router Systems:
Enabled with 3 Gb/s HD/SDI operation, the expanded CR Series of Compact Routers offers new GUIs and delivers high-performance NVISION quality for budget-conscious applications in broadcast, mobile production, and post-production, and also where compact size and operational simplicity are critical factors. Users can expect an easy out-of-the-box experience for set up and installation, as well as an intuitive easy-to-use GUI. The CR Series can be controlled by an NV9000 or NV910 control system for integration into large routing systems.

Synapse Modular Product Line:
The Synapse modular product line comprises over 100 modules for HD/SD signal processing and transmission that can be cost-effectively integrated into one powerful media system over time. Users can also integrate Synapse modules with any of our other NVISION router, router control, and master control products in order to add specific features, increase system functionality, and even lower overall costs.
