ECAC and FASTHockey Team Up to Offer Free Internet Broadcast of Men’s East Ice Hockey Championships

FASTHockey (http://www.FASTHockey.com), the Web’s resource for amateur hockey and player recruiting, today announced that it has partnered with the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) to broadcast the ECAC Men’s East Ice Hockey Championships March 3-4. FASTHockey and the ECAC will offer fans free, live streaming video of the semifinal and championship games on its Web site.

In the first semifinal game on March 3, #6 Babson visits

Norwich, the #1 seed, at 3 p.m. (EST). Fifth-seeded Castleton will then play #2
New England at 6 p.m. The championship game is at 3 p.m. on March 4.

“The ECAC has a sophisticated and passionate fan base, and we are thrilled to partner with FASTHockey to bring them live broadcasts of our championship weekend for free on the Web,” said Steve Bamford, interim commissioner of the ECAC. “As FASTHockey builds out its community of hockey players, fans and coaches, we see many synergies with the goals of the five ECAC hockey leagues.”

“FASTHockey.com is building the ultimate online hockey community, and partnering with the ECAC to broadcast tournament games for free over the Web takes us one step further toward our goal,” said FASTHockey Director of Development Scott Young, a veteran of 17 NHL seasons. “The amateur hockey community now can visit FASTHockey for recruiting information, original content, social networking, video clips, stats, schedules — and live, streaming broadcasts of big games.”
