Pace Introduces New Family of CableCARD Products

Pace Micro Technology, introduced its new family of CableCARD products, including CableCARD versions of the successfully deployed Tahoe HD DVR and Vegas SD DVR, as well as its newest CableCARD set-top box, the Miami HD.

Pace will introduce these boxes in the exhibit area of the CableLabs Winter Conference 2007, to be held March 4-7 at the Hyatt Regency Denver at The Colorado Convention Center, Denver, Colo.

As an extension to the HD Pace product family, Pace s unique Miami DC757X HD host set-top box delivers an exciting new platform for cable operators. The Miami DC757X HD can be deployed as a standalone non-DVR product, or subscribers can add DVR capability through the external Serial-ATA hard disk drive port. The box supports both legacy OOB signaling and Advanced DSG signaling via the built-in DOCSIS 2.0 modem, plus it has an Ethernet switch that allows for Internet access connectivity included as standard. The Miami HD set-top is a flexible and cost-effective option for HDTV homes.

The most advanced high definition DVR in North America, Pace s Tahoe TDC778X HD-DVR host is a dual-tuner HD-DVR set-top box that has been fully integrated with the latest generation of EPG and VOD applications, and also sports an internal DOCSIS 2.0 modem that can be utilized for Advanced DSG communication as well as secure, isolated data and Internet services. Tahoe continues to be praised by the industry as one of the fastest running OCAP platforms.

The first of its kind available for cost effective SD-DVR, Pace s Vegas host is a dual-tuner set-top box that is richly featured with the latest EPG and VOD applications, advanced connectivity, DOCSIS, and also supports OCAP. Vegas has also been certified by CableLabs for DOCSIS/DSG. Its slim-case design and low cost make Vegas the choice for large-scale DVR deployments.

The Tahoe HD-DVR, Vegas SD-DVR and Miami HD hosts all feature Pace s unique EngineWare core set-top software. EngineWare allows rapid rollout of interactive CableCARD set-tops with the current generation of native program guides, and provides a field upgradeable platform for the introduction of OpenCable Application Platform (OCAP) as full Open Cable Networks come on line. Pace s EngineWare is already successfully deployed across numerous networks in
North America.

We re proud to be one of the leading set-top box providers who are helping cable operators comply with the July 1, 2007 mandate by providing a range of CableCARD-ready products prior to the deadline, said Pace Americas Vice President Sales and Marketing Tim O Loughlin.
