LYNX Technik AG intros new processors
Story Highlights
LYNX Technik AG, provider of intelligent interface products for the broadcast and professional audio & video industry is introducing a brand new series of products to complement the existing Series 5000 signal processing line. The new ground-breaking products offer an incomparable feature-set and include a series of eight multi-format and multi-mode embedders / de-embedders / audio node processors designed for a variety of digital audio applications. LYNX Technik will be showing these new products on their NAB booth # SU15209.
The eight new LYNX Multi-format modules include:
– SD/HD 4 Channel AES De-Embedding / Embedding + Audio Node Processing
– SD/HD 4 x AES De-embedder / embedder + Audio Node Processor (P MD 5264)
– SD/HD 2, 4 or 8 Channel AES De-Embedding + Audio Node Processing
– SD/HD 8 x AES De-embedder + Audio Node processor (Model No. P DX 5268)
– SD/HD 4 x AES De-embedder (Model No. P DX 5264)
– SD/HD 2 x AES De-embedder (Model No. P DX 5262)
– SD/HD 2 x AES + Analog Audio De-embedder (Model No. P DX 5362)
– SD/HD 2, 4 or 8 Channel AES Embedding + Audio Node Processing
– SD/HD 8 x AES Embedder + Audio Node Processor (Model No. P MX 5268)
– SD/HD 4 x AES Embedder (Model No. P MX 5264)
– SD/HD 2 x AES Embedder (Model No. P MX 5262)
As facilities move to become fully digital in both standard definition and high definition, the requirements for signal processing are increasing. LYNX is meeting the demands for more functionality with the introduction of their new advanced audio processing line of Series 5000 modules, which allows facilities to use less equipment for their audio and video processing applications.
These new solutions feature a 2, 4, and 8 channel embedding and de-embedding toolset, plus offer an extremely unique solution for digital audio applications. In addition to offering auto detecting multi-format SD or HD embedded audio operations, three of the new modules also provide comprehensive Audio Node Processing capabilities. This combined feature set brings to market a completely distinctive solution that is the ultimate in SD/HD digital audio processing and enables broadcasters to take control of their digital AES infrastructures.
The Audio Node Processing functionality is built on some of the industry s most efficient technology and architecture. They are compact, affordable, stable, robust, and provide the flexibility needed in today s complex multi-format / multi-channel digital audio infrastructures.
New PMD 5264:
S
D/HD 4 Channel AES De-Embedder / Embedder + Audio Node Processor:
The P MD 5264 will de-embed the complete audio payload from the input SDI stream as well as take in four external AES streams. The 24 simultaneous input audio mono channels have independent node processing functions, which include; adjustable gain, mute, and phase invert functions, with integrated overload and silence detection. Once processed, the 24 mono audio channels are combined into 12 separate internal AES streams, each with adjustable audio delay. Once delayed
and processed, the audio passes through a 24×24 mono output crossbar where the audio is selected for embedding back into the SD-SDI stream and external AES outputs.
New P DX 5268 SD/HD 8 Channel AES De-Embedder + Audio Node Processor:
The P DX 5268 de-embeds the complete audio payload from the input SDI stream. All 16 de-embedded mono channels have independent audio node processing functions, which include; adjustable gain, mute, and phase invert functions, with integrated overload and silence detection. Once processed, the 16 mono audio channels are combined into eight separate internal AES streams, each with adjustable audio delay. Once delayed
and processed the audio passes through a 16×32 mono output crossbar where the audio is selected for re-embedding and external AES output.
New: P MX 5268 SD/HD 8 Channel AES Embedder + Audio Node Processor:
The P MX 5268 will de-embed the complete audio payload from the input SDI stream as well as accept eight external AES streams. All 32 simultaneous mono analog audio channels have independent audio node processing functions, which include; adjustable gain, mute, and phase invert functionality, with built-in overload and silence detection. Once the 32 mono audio channels are processed, they are combined into 16 separate internal AES streams, each with adjustable audio delay. Once delayed
and processed, the audio passes through a 32×16 mono output crossbar where the selected audio is embedded back into the SD-SDI stream.
All the new modules contain an integrated two-frame adjustable video delay, which allow you to correct audio & video delay issues. Plus, for all external AES inputs, selectable sample rate converters are provided to ensure compatibility with any external DolbyE audio.
The combined functions of the new multi-mode audio processing modules are ideal where a large amount of audio processing is required and provide a true broadcast quality solution to the embedding & de-embedding and processing of AES digital audio into SD-SDI stream.
All of the new products described above fit into the existing compact 2RU LYNX Series 5000 frames with other Series 5000 modules (up to 10 of each of card can be accommodated in a single frame). Complete remote control, status monitoring, and error reporting is available through the optional LYNX control system.
