regular season, peaked at 1.75 million viewers during the shootout, as the
Islanders clinched the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern
Conference.

TSN delivered a national average audience of 997,000 viewers,
setting a record on many levels: the most watched all-American NHL regular
season game ever on TSN, more than double the previous high (Dallas @ Colorado,
433,000 viewers, Oct. 4, 2006) the 5th most watched NHL regular
season game and 8th most watched NHL game of all time on TSN
(regular season or playoffs)
the 2nd

Oct. 4, 2006, opening night)

Of note,
Sunday afternoon was a busy day in sports television as the Islanders/Devils

Curling Championship and Blue Jays Baseball.
