Telecast’s New Series 6000 Viper II Wins TV Technology STAR Award at NAB2007

Telecast
Fiber Systems’ new Series 6000 Viper II fiber optic video and audio transport
system has been recognized with a 2007 STAR (Superior Technology Award
Recipient) Award, given by the editorial staff of TV Technology magazine at the
NAB2007 convention. The STAR Award, which celebrates and showcases the
preeminent technological innovations available to the broadcast industry, was
selected by a panel of TV Technology editors and columnists who judged a
variety of products according to their technical applications and overall
contribution to the industry.

“We’re
very pleased that the features and technology newly incorporated into our new
Viper II systems have been honored by the TV Technology panel,” said
Eugene Baker, CTO of Telecast Fiber Systems. “The Series 6000 builds on
the solid foundation of earlier Viper II releases, providing the same ease of
use and reliability while meeting the growing demand for ecologically
responsible products.”

The next
generation of Telecast’s well-known Viper II family, the Series 6000 are
RoHS-compliant and incorporate the latest technology to provide even higher
performance and greater convenience. Several Viper II Series 6000 module sets
are already available for the transport of SDI and HD/SDI. They range from
single HD/SDI transport to multichannel transceivers and AES digital audio
multiplexing. Modules feature a BNC video monitoring port on the front panel,
and certain modules offer loop-through inputs, multiple video outputs,
distribution amplifier expansion options, selectable signal reclocking, and
integrated status and optical power metering.

“Every
year, the NAB show serves as the launching pad for thousands of new products
and services for audio and video professionals,” said TV Technology Editor
Tom Butts. “Our panel of editors walked the show floor in search of the
most innovative technologies. The products and services that we selected for
the STAR Award made the cut — they demonstrated their ability to help advance
the acquisition and distribution of entertainment and information across the
media spectrum.”
