Empire State Building gets winner’s colors

The winner
of this weekend’s series between the Yankees and Mets will earn a place on the
Manhattan skyline for a night.The Empire State Building will glow in the
winning team’s colors on Monday, according to the skyscraper’s Web site.

The top of
the 1,454-foot building will be lit with both teams’ colors during the
three-game series Friday-Sunday at Shea Stadium in
Queens,
home of the Mets. The north and south sides of the tower will radiate in the
blue and white of the Yankees, while the east and west sides will shine in the
Mets’ orange and blue.

The
Yankees have a 32-22 record against the Mets since baseball began scheduling
regular-season interleague games in 1997.
