NBC Launches Interactive Broadcast Of Cup Finals

NBCSports.com
announced that sports fans can engage in an interactive television experience
filled with predictive questions, polls, trivia, games and more during the 2007
NHL Stanley Cup Final on NBC.

Hockey
fans will be able to interact with the Stanley Cup broadcast like never before
with NBCSports.com Screen Shot.

NBCSports.com Screen Shot is an online “two-screen experience”
that allows viewers at home to play along in real-time with NBC’s live Stanley
Cup broadcasts. Viewers can interact in real-time by choosing their favorite
teams, predicting the outcome of events within the game, and rooting for
individual players. Participants will also engage in other interactive elements,
by participating in fan polls, answering NHL trivia, playing hockey mini-games
or chatting with other Ottawa Senators or Anaheim Ducks fans.

In order
to play NBCSports.com Screen Shot, viewers log on to

their participation and be able to see how they compare to other hockey fans.
Additionally, NBC Sports will give away great prizes including NHL Prize Packs
and tickets to next year’s Stanley Cup Final to randomly selected winners from
all registered users. NBCSports.com Screen Shot will be available during all
NBC Stanley Cup Final broadcasts, starting with Game 3 on Saturday, June 2 (8
pm ET / 5 pm PT).

NBC Sports
and NBCSports.com are committed to using interactivity to entertain and engage
our audience across multiple platforms,” said Perkins Miller, Senior VP,
Digital Media, NBC Sports & Olympics. “NBCSports.com Screen Shot is an
exciting example of how we can enhance the TV experience, allowing hockey fans
to watch the Stanley Cup on television while simultaneously playing along
online.”

“Sports
fans no longer want to passively watch the game,” said Michael Adams, vice
president, system architecture, TANDBERG Television, Inc. “Today’s sports
enthusiast wants to be part of the action. The two-screen application developed
for NBCSports.com demonstrates TANDBERG Television’s commitment to providing
innovative interactive technologies, to personalize the television
experience.”

The Flash
