Tickets.com Signs Two Independent Baseball Teams

Tickets.com,
announced that the company signed contracts with two independent professional
baseball teams. The Evansville Otters and Southern Illinois Miners, both part
of the 15-year-old Frontier League which started its 2007 season on May 23,
signed new multi-year agreements with Tickets.com.

Under the
new agreements, both the Miners and Otters are utilizing Tickets.com’s
ProVenueGrandSlam, which teamed with ProVenueOnline, enables online ticket
sales on the ball clubs’ own Web sites. Both teams are taking advantage of
Tickets.com’s shopping cart feature, which encourages multiple game purchases
per transaction.

The Miners
will also utilize some of the company’s other advanced technology, including
Tickets@Home and Access Control, which provides fans with convenient online
ticket printing and faster gate entry, and enables the team to track fan
behavior.

“Starting
fresh in a new ballpark with a new team, we want to provide our fans with a
great experience. That experience starts with the ease with which fans purchase
their tickets and gain access to the ballpark,” said Erik Haag, vice
president, Southern Illinois Miners. “Based on my previous experience with
Tickets.com, I felt that the company offered the best solution in terms of
service and fan-friendly technology.”

The Evansville Otters, 2006 Frontier League
champions, will venture into automated ticketing for the first time this
season.

“Moving
to online ticket sales was a huge undertaking for us. We wanted a system that
would allow us to sell tickets online under our own brand. We looked at several
other providers and were most impressed with Tickets.com,” said Scott
Trible, director of operations, Evansville Otters.

“Tickets.com
made the transition to automated ticket sales easy for the team and our
fans.” The Miners and Otters are two of 12 teams that make up the Frontier
League. The 96-game season runs through September 2, with playoffs scheduled
from September 4 through 17.

“We’re
looking forward to helping the Evansville Otters and Southern Illinois Miners
provide their fans with an easy, convenient ticket buying process,” said
Marshall Pred,

Midwest regional director for
Tickets.com.

“We’re
thrilled by the confidence these two teams have in our technology.”
