BBC Motion Gallery Debuts CBS News Database Online

BBC Motion
Gallery, the footage-licensing arm of BBC Worldwide, announced the debut of the
CBS News Online Database, an online text-based service allowing searches of
over 60 years of CBS News archives.

The catalog includes details of clips from historic daily news broadcasts and
programs such as Evening News, CBS News Special Reports, The Early Show,
Eyewitness, 48 Hours, 60 Minutes and more, and is updated on a weekly basis
with new material.

Located at www.bbcmotiongallery.com/infax, the new service allows users to
quickly and easily search text-based metadata on thousands of hours of archived
news footage. The site also features workbook tools created to enable
users to group clip selections and email them to colleagues for collaboration
and sharing. This service is tailor made for professional film and
television researchers who can get access to the database by registering online
at bbcmotiongallery.com.

“For the first time ever, the world-renowned CBS News archive is
completely searchable on the web,” commented Clara Fon-Sing, VP America East
Coast & Latin America, BBC Motion Gallery. “This marks a huge step
forward for BBC Motion Gallery, helping us reach our goal of becoming the most
comprehensive one-stop resource for our clients. We’re continuing to invest in
tools that make our seemingly boundless library more accessible than ever to
our customers.”

The debut of the CBS News Database Online is the latest enhancement
complementing the recently redesigned BBC Motion Gallery web site, which
features clickless motion previews that allow users to view high quality,
high-resolution previews. The new site launched with an updated version
of BBC Motion Gallery’s popular Search Widget previously among the ten most
popular on Apple’s web site. The Widget, now at version 2.0, allows users
to search for royalty-free or rights-managed footage, or both, almost instantly
without having to launch a browser.
