DVSport Teams Up With the Mountain West Conference for Digital Replay

DVSport,
Inc. announces that its state-of-the-art digital replay system will be used by
the Mountain West Conference, beginning with the upcoming 2007 football
season.
The Mountain West will join the
Big East,
Atlantic
Coast, Big Ten and
Southeastern conferences in choosing DVSport for their football instant replay
needs.
Over the
past several seasons, DVSport has provided instant replay technology in over
500 regular-season NCAA football games and 40 post-season bowl games. “We are
very excited to have the Mountain West Conference become a part of our instant
replay family,” said DVSport President and CEO Brian Lowe.
“We feel very strongly that our touch screen
replay system is the best possible solution in the market today, and the
Mountain West Conference agreed.”
The
Mountain West Conference, based in
Colorado
Springs,
CO, was an
early adopter of replay, and was the only conference to experiment with the
coaches challenge element that subsequently became a part of the NCAA
rule.
More recently, the MWC has been
involved in the development of national standards and protocols for the
administration of instant replay in college football.
“We wanted to make sure that we were
providing the best possible replay solution for the MWC. After extensive
research and analysis, we found that in DVSport,” said
Bret
Gilliland, Deputy Commissioner for the Mountain West
Conference.
Almost
every home football games will be televised this season via the MWC’s
innovative television model that includes the VERSUS, CSTV and The Mtn.
networks.
“Through our television and
replay partnerships, the Mountain West has demonstrated its commitment to
operate at the top level of intercollegiate athletics,” added Gilliland.
Beyond
delivering their replay product, DVSport also provides extensive and on-going
replay training prior to and throughout the football season. This reduces
the chance for error and increases the replay officials’ level of confidence
and comfort with the technology.

technology, combined with ongoing training and collaboration with each of our
conferences, ensures that DVSport replay clients are in the best possible
position to make the right call,” said Lowe.
