IBC names Michael Crimp acting CEO

IBC2007 is approaching fast, with all the signs suggesting it is going to be another very successful event. To guide the organisation through the event and beyond, IBC is consolidating its management by appointing Michael Crimp as its acting chief executive officer, Michael is a familiar IBC face from his current role as director of market development.

Speaking on behalf of the IBC Board, Mike Martin said “We believe that the organisation is in excellent shape. The whole IBC team continues to show exceptional professionalism after the shock of the sudden death of our operations director Richard Suter.”

“Michael’s key tasks over the coming months will be to lead the co-ordination of the project, and to ensure that there is strong communication of our progress with all the stakeholders. We are continually looking ahead, and Michael will also be continuing to work with the whole IBC community to develop the plan for IBC2008. His considerable experience will be invaluable during this period.”

Michael Crimp added “I am honoured to serve our industry by taking on this challenge. I know I have a great team around me, and I look forward to guiding them through IBC2007 and beyond. I have taken this role as acting CEO on an interim basis to give IBC time to carefully consider its options for the future, and I expect to step down when a permanent appointment is made.”
