HBO Asia, which has five channels under its multi-channel strategy (HBO, HBO
SIGNATURE, HBO HITS, HBO FAMILY and CINEMAX), provides subscribers with the
ultimate premium movie entertainment package, offering subscribers more viewing
options at any one time for an incredible value. HBO is available in 22
countries throughout Asia and has closed-captioned subtitling in several local
languages.
HBO Asia brings the best of Hollywood to Asia first due to its licensing deals with major Hollywood studios – Columbia/TriStar, Paramount Pictures, Universal Studios and Warner Bros.
HBO Asia chose Orad’s channel branding solution to replace its existing systems
as 3DPlay was the only solution that provided a pure 3D system, as oppose to
the 2D system which currently exists in the market. 3DPlay also provide a
template and database oriented architecture which enables fast and seamless
programming changes.
HBO Asia has already begun to implement nine 3DPlay systems and within an
incredibly short period of time, will implement 3DPlay for all of its channels
across Asia Pacific. HBO Asia already benefits from 3DPlay’s ability to run
multiple compressed video clips in their native resolution thereby providing
superior graphics capabilities.
