NewTek intros Universal version of LightWave 3D

NewTek has introduced the Universal version of LightWave 3D, making it available for use on
Intel-based Macs. It now takes full advantage of the advancements in the
operating system, architecture and development environment from Apple,
providing major speed and performance improvements for Mac users. The
Universal version enables LightWave to run on both the PowerPC G4 and
G5 CPUs and the new Intel-based Macs. Optimized performance will be
provided for Mac users natively on both series of CPUs.

audio core with audio scrubbing capabilities is also among the major improvements
to the application, allowing the user to match animation to audio. A wide
range of optimizations in workflow and rendering speed come together in this
new edition to make LightWave faster than ever for graphics production work
on the Mac.

The Universal version of LightWave 3D is now available at no additional
charge to registered owners of LightWave v9. LightWave v9 with SpeedEDIT
is available worldwide through October 31, 2007 at suggested retail price
of $895US, a savings of $495US. Registered owners of LightWave 3D [8]
