College Sports Video Summit Gains Widespread Academic And Broadcaster Support

Rallying
behind the cause to advance video
production capabilities for colleges and universities, the College Sports Video
Summit (CSVS), June 9-10 in Atlanta, has
gained widespread support from major academic institutions, conferences, and
their broadcast and production partners.
“The
two-day event will help all attendees learn how to best utilize TV-production
equipment, leverage existing resources to increase ROI, and maximize the
quality of college-sports production,” says Conference Chairman Tom
Buffolano. “We are grateful for the
support we have already received from so many prestigious academic and
broadcast organizations.”
University and college partners and
participants already include: Baylor University,
Boston College. University of Notre Dame, Elon
University, University of Central Florida, Indiana University of Pennsylvania,
Texas A&M University, Pennsylvania State University, University of
California at Los Angeles, Rutgers University, Ball State University,
University of Florida, Oklahoma Baptist University, University of Virginia, and
St. Cloud State University
Conferences and Leagues that are supporting
the event include: Mountain West Conference, The ACC, Conference USA, Horizon
League, the Patriot League, and The Big Ten Conference.
Broadcast, production, and distribution
partners include: CBS College Sports Network, CBS Interactive, Kitay

CSVS is also being supported by leading
college sports and broadcast associations including: the NCAA, NACDA,

In
addition to two days of conferences and workshops, CSVS will feature the first
annual awards program for outstanding achievement in college sports television
and video production. The Global Media Awards for College Sports, presented by
the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) and Sports Video
Group (SVG), will honor programming by media companies as well as university
and college athletic and programming departments.
CSVS
is produced by the Sports Video Group, which was formed in 2006 to support the
community that relies on video, audio, and broadband technologies to produce
and distribute sports content. Leagues, conferences, owners, teams,
universities, players, broadcasters, Webcasters, and consumer technology
providers have joined the SVG to learn from each other, turn vision into
reality, and implement new innovations, while sharing experiences that will
lead to advancements in the sports production/distribution process and the
overall consumer sports experience.
