Thales Angenieux Focuses Lenses on NAB

Among products Thales Angenieux will feature at NAB: its new Optimo Rouge 16-42mm large-format digital zoom lens; its 19 x 7.3 AIF general-purpose ENG/EFP lenses; its digital 26 x 7.8 AIF HD and high-resolution series Tele Super Zoom ENG/EFP lenses; its line of Optimo 35mm lenses; and, with Binocle, an imaging technique that will allow full 3-D stereoscopic shooting without objectionable side effects.

The Optimo Rouge 16-42mm large-format digital zoom lens features a wide-angle position of 16mm (75.4 degrees), a fast aperture of T2.8, calibrated focus marks, and no ramping or breathing.

The company’s 19 x 7.3 AIF series lenses are available in HD, HD-E, and standard-definition. Features include memorized focus and zoom positions; an anti-backlash system; auto-cruise zoom function; digital laws for focus and zoom; serial communication; optional built-in focus (SSD version); and an optional 16-bit output optical encoder (SSDE version).

The Digital 26X ENG/EFP lenses feature a focal range of 7.8mm to 203mm (5.6mm to 406mm with a 2x extender) and an aperture of f/1.8 for the HR version and f/2.2 for the HD version. They also offer the same features listed above for the 19 x 7.3 AIF series.

Thales Angenieux is showcasing its entire line of Optimo 35mm lenses at the confab.

Finally, Thales Angenieux and Binocle will preview an imaging technique that will allow full 3-D stereoscopic shooting without objectionable side effects. The companies say the solution combines perfectly paired optics with full motion control, along with advanced algorithms designed to alleviate viewing stress.
