Bexel Uses NAB Presence To Clarify Company Position

By Carolyn Braff

Bexel is well-known as a broadcast-services provider that does a little bit of everything, but, at this year’s NAB Show, the company is making a point to clarify that statement.

“Our booth this year has a more elegant way of showing what we do,” explains National Sales Manager Rhett Frazier. “The umbrella of the company is obviously Bexel, but we have specialty divisions, and we want to highlight each of them and how they are connected. Now that people need packaged solutions, they are starting to understand that, from a broadcast-services perspective, we are a great place to go for help.”

Bexel Audio Services Group is known for audio rentals, but the division also handles professional audio sales and engineering integration services, including RF over fiber and copper. Fiber is a significant part of the Bexel business through Bexel Fiber Services.

“Stadium retrofits are huge for us, and, typically, people just haven’t known that we’re capable of that,” Frazier says.

Bexel is also highlighting its membership in the Vitec family, bringing such partners into the booth as 3G Wireless.

“It’s the packaging of all of our various solutions,” Frazier says, noting scalable flypacks and product resales through the Broadcast Video Gear division as other important links in the Bexel company chain.

At a time when the mandate for high definition is still going strong but broadcasting budgets are universally shrinking, Bexel finds itself in a unique position to execute for its clients. “At the first of the year, there was a certain amount of desperation about the economy, but people need solutions,” Frazier says. “They need to find ways to be more efficient, and they really need the packaging because we know how to upgrade facilities. We know how to ease peoples’ pain with financial solutions and leasing options. To be part of the Vitec family, which is financially really strong, is just great.”
