Safeway Rings Up Broadcast Pix Switchers

Food and drug retailer Safeway became the first customer to link Broadcast Pix’s Slate 3032 with one or more Slate systems so that they share the same inputs and outputs.

The retailer’s 32×32 Harris Panacea HD/standard-definition router links its Slate 3032 and Slate 1000 integrated live-production switchers, which are situated in two separate control rooms at its corporate headquarters in Pleasanton, CA. Safeway also uses Broadcast Pix Fluent work-flow software to bring in HD/SD graphics, clips, and digital files and data over a network from workstations into the switchers.

Safeway is using the switchers to produce 30 hours of corporate training and informational videos per week for its 200,000 employees at 1,800 stores nationwide.
