ICC Taps STATS as Official Data Partner

STATS is now the official data partner for the International Cricket Council, the sport’s governing body, under terms of a three-year agreement. STATS will provide live ball-by-ball coverage for all major ICC events, beginning with this week’s ICC World Twenty20 in England, followed by the ICC Champions Trophy in South Africa in September.

The sports technology, data, and content company will also begin building a historical ICC statistical database. And STATS will hold an exclusive license to market and sell ICC-branded data services and applications to multimedia and other entities.

STATS says its match tracker is a Web component that provides real-time scorecards, player statistics, and match facts, while offering advertisers and marketers a brand-building tool. The application was created by Sportz Interactive, which is based in Mumbai and which is a member of STATS’s global network.
