Daktronics Displays to Entertain Gator Nation

Gator Nation will feast its eyes on two of the largest video screens in college football when the University of Florida kicks off its home schedule at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, or “The Swamp,” with new displays that will be designed, manufactured, and installed this summer by Daktronics.

The larger, south-end-zone video display will measure approximately 136 feet wide by 30 feet high, and the other display, measuring approximately 71 feet wide by 24 feet high, will occupy the area above the north end zone. Daktronics says the video boards can operate as single giant displays or be divided into multiple zones (windows) to show a wide variety of statistics, information, graphics, animations, and live and recorded video.

The company adds that it will provide digital-ribbon-display technology to the fascia, with in-game information, out-of-town scores, promotional messages, and crowd prompts.

Daktronics first installed its video technology at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in 1998, and the company has worked with the University of Florida over the past decade installing systems in the O’Connell Center, as well as the baseball, softball, soccer, and track and field facilities.
