India’s TV9 Upgrades Its Grass Valley Gear

TV9, a 24-hour news channel serving the Andhra Pradesh province of India, upgraded its Grass Valley gear from the Profile servers it used since its launch in 2004 to K2 media servers to support its editing and playout functions.

The main news studio includes a Grass Valley Kayak production switcher, and other programs from is TV9 are produced using the company’s Indigo AV Mixer, which combines an audio-follow-video mixer with production switching.

The Associated Broadcasting Co.-owned station has also used Grass Valley Aurora Edit workstations since its debut, and all of the workstations share content through a common K2 media server with RAID storage.

All media management and system configuration is controlled through workflows established by the Grass Valley App Center, with simple Windows-based software running on a PC on the same network.
