Universal Sports to Boost NBC’s Olympic Coverage

Universal Sports will lend a hand to NBC’s multi-platform coverage of February’s Winter Olympics in Vancouver with daily live studio programming and news updates.  Universal Sports, which is currently available in 57 million homes, is already running a nightly half-hour Countdown to Vancouver program and will begin its full Olympic coverage on Feb. 12, the first day of the 2010 Games.

Multichannel News reports that Universal Sports at the Vancouver Games will feature five different live studio programs and continuous half hour updates from sets in Vancouver and Whistler, BC, in Canada as well as from the network’s home base in Westlake Village, CA. Live studio programming will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET with half hour updates until 4 p.m. and a 24-hour Olympic news ticker throughout the day.
