Universal Sports Opens New HD Production Facility

Universal Sports has moved into a new 40,000sq-foot HD production facility in Westlake Village, CA. Universal Sports, which is currently available in 56 million homes, has consolidated its TV and digital units into this single facility, labeled the Universal Sports Campus.  The units were previously located in Southern California and Bethesda, MD.

According to Broadcast Engineering, the new facilities contain HD production, control rooms, editing, sound and graphics facilities, with a 10,000sq-ft production area as well as a 6000sq-ft stage. Universal Sports has selected Inlet Technologies’ Spinnaker and Armada encoding and streaming solutions to power UniversalSports.com’s live and on-demand coverage of the 2010 Winter Olympics and other sports.
