Fox To Air First Soccer Match with Champions League Final

Fox will broadcast its first soccer match when the UEFA Champions League final hits the network on May 22. When Fox won the U.S. TV rights to the match last April, it was announced that the final would air on Fox’s cable channel FX.  However, the network switch means that Europe’s top club match will now reach a much broader audience on Fox’s primary network and be broadcast in HD.

The New York Times reports that Fox Soccer Channel will begin its coverage of the Champions League’s knockout stage, with round-of-16 coverage on Feb. 16-17 and Feb. 23-24.
