mPoint Relaunches as Panvidea, Adds to Client Portfolio

mPoint has relaunched as Panvidea, but it’s far from just a change in name. Panvidea, which provides on-demand preparation, processing, and distribution of entertainment and advertising content, has also added a host of new clients and has released a new enhanced version of its service.

Among Panvidea’s list of new professional media clients are A&E Television Networks, Fox Broadcasting Company, and Getty Images.

“The business of content distribution is changing at light-speed and the traditional technology providers have fallen behind,” say Cali, now Panvidea’s CEO. “Media producers and content distributors are struggling to service new digital channels and modernize operations, and they have the difficult challenge of reducing costs while simultaneously increasing revenue.  Panvidea is a fast, efficient and cost effective way to encode digital elements, manage relevant metadata, edit and transform content for different purposes, and supply content as digital products to any platform or device.”

The re-launch also includes several product enhancements to Panvidea’s professional broadcast encoding and automated post-production services. The new version of Panvidea’s service includes a more powerful and user-friendly dashboard with real-time monitoring. Panvidea will also offer increased system performance enabled by detailed input file analysis and enhanced resource allocation algorithms. New video processing capabilities are available, such as standards conversion, audio downmixing, commercial slate creation, and support for a broad range of broadcast quality formats. Updated service packages are now based on content hours output instead of per-GB in and out to encourage high-quality video sources.

“Panvidea combines an instantly scalable, SaaS-based post-production and encoding engine with an integrated online dashboard for managing the entire video processing workflow from ingest to delivery,” says Cali. “Through continued product development and performance enhancements, we automate many non-creative post-production and encoding processes, enabling content owners, advertisers and broadcasters to realize instant and significant cost savings while improving quality and speed of distribution.”

The newly-dubbed Panvidea was founded in 2007 by industry veterans Chris Cali and Frank Gatto and is now backed by New York digital media capital firm Greycroft Partners.
