CoachComm, HighSchoolSports.net Join Forces to Create The FILM ROOM

Gannett’s HighSchoolSports.net has teamed with CoachComm to create The FILM ROOM.  The new system allows high school coaches to quickly and easily upload video cutups from their CoachComm PowerEdit, QuickEdit, or QuickEdit EZ film editors to a password-protected HighSchoolSports.net site, where each coach can control who sees their team video.

“We are always looking for better and easier ways to study more game video, and to get that video in the hands of colleges that have scholarships for our student athletes,” says Greg Toal, head football coach at Don Bosco Prep (USA Today Super 25 No. 1 in 2009) and USA Today National Coach of the Year. “The new Film Room will be perfect and it’s from two companies we trust – CoachComm and HighSchoolSports.net/Schedule Star.  With their products we have become a national-caliber program.”

By using The FILM ROOM’s Highlight feature, high school coaches can give college coaches online access to view and download video for athletes aspiring to earn college athletic scholarships.  Highlight clips for the coach’s team can also be viewed and downloaded free by college coaches via The Bleachers on HighSchoolSports.net. This circumvents the process of burning and mailing hundreds of DVDs or trying to find video on YouTube with varying levels of resolution.

The Film Room is also a fast, simple, and effective way for players to get extra film study without coaches having to burn hundreds of DVDs each year.

The FILM ROOM is free to high school and college coaches with a CoachComm PowerEdit, QuickEdit, or QuickEdit EZ video uploader.  If the high school coach does not yet have a digital editor, they can use The Bleachers on HighSchoolSports.net to upload video for viewing by parents, fans, and college coaches.

“HighSchoolSports.net is excited to add The Film Room to our portfolio of productivity tools. It’s an easy to use and powerful tool that is free to all coaches for all sports,” says Jason Rine, content manager at HighSchoolSports.net.  “In addition, for the past two years, fans and coaches have [utilized] The Bleachers to upload and share their videos.  It provides a fantastic and economical solution too.”

In addition, CoachComm also offers video analysis products to colleges to access and analyze the video to increase player visibility for all sports at all levels.

“While all high school coaches do not do extensive video training and analysis, all high school coaches want their best athletes to be visible to coaches at the collegiate level,” says Austin Jackson, product manager for CoachComm. “CoachComm offers services and software in our PowerEdit line of products to make upload of video and stats to HighSchoolSports.net fast and easy. Unlike other companies that sell access to the video, only HighSchoolSports.net and CoachComm have made this access free to high school coaches and colleges.”
