Avid heads to NAB to showcase end-to-end workflows, support for multiple formats, openness and interoperability for customers. While details have yet to be released, Avid will address how today’s post and broadcast professionals can enhance their workflows to find and manage media assets anytime, anywhere. A number of Avid’s audio and video solutions will be on display at NAB this year, including: Avid Media Composer, Symphony and NewsCutter editing software; Avid Interplay; Avid Unity shared storage, and Pro Tools.

Earlier this month, Avid announced a major expansion of its market-leading Interplay product family based on its acquisition of Blue Order, in order to transform the company’s current production asset management (PAM) solution into a full media asset management (MAM) solution. Avid’s Interplay family now includes a new module, Interplay Media Asset Manager, based on the Blue Order Media Archive product. This new module enhances content-related workflows by allowing media enterprises to collect, index, catalog, manipulate, retrieve and distribute rich media.

Customers will benefit from Interplay’s workflow orchestration, rich media capabilities and modular open platform. Interplay Media Asset Manager will be integrated with the existing Interplay production asset management solution, now called Interplay Production, forming a combined family of Interplay products that will assist broadcast customers in developing acquisition, production, archive and distribution workflows. Avid’s Interplay product family is the foundation of the Avid Integrated Media Enterprise framework, an open framework for businesses to address the rapid changes in the media industry and adapt in a “content anywhere” world with an open media catalog and rich media repository.
