Cablevision Agrees to Carry ESPNU

Cablevision Systems has a reached a deal with Walt Disney Co. to carry ESPNU and a host of other affiliated networks in SD and HD.  The MSO is already carrying the 24-hour college sports network in both SD and HD in some areas and will make it available to its 3 million subscribers by March 25.

The deal follows a tense standoff concerning the retrans fees for Disney-owned ABC. Cablevision and Disney came to a tentative agreement that put ABC back on its cable systems, but it is still undetermined whether a long-term deal has been finalized, according to Multichannel News.

In addition, Cablevision has agreed to carry the HD feeds of the Disney Channel, ABC Family, Disney XD and ESPNews.
