PSSI/Strategic Television Splits 14 Ways for Mega-Coverage Weekend

March 27-28 proved to be a busy weekend for PSSI/Strategic Television. The company, a supplier of mobile satellite transmission, production, and streaming services, provided domestic and international broadcast services at more than a dozen events from Detroit to the Dominican Republic. Involving HD and SD transmission services and fiber encoding for high-profile sporting events as well as entertainment and news programs, the weekend was a complex one that showcased the breadth of PSSI/Strategic’s services.

The company’s sports commitments over the weekend began with CBS, for which the company provided HD satellite services for conference and game transmissions at every NCAA men’s basketball playoff site, and continued with HD satellite services for ESPN’s coverage of the NCAA women’s basketball playoffs in Memphis and WWE Wrestlemania in Phoenix.
The company provided HD and SD game transmission for MLB spring-training baseball in Arizona and Florida; HD game coverage for the Versus telecast of NBA D-League competition in Hidalgo, TX; and HD broadcast services for Fox Soccer Channel’s broadcast of the game between USA women’s national team and Mexico in San Diego.
PSSI/Strategic also supported coverage of the LPGA golf tournament in Carlsbad, CA; PGA golf tournament in the Dominican Republic; and the NASCAR Sprint Cup race in Martinsville, VA.
The UFC Championships in Newark, NJ, benefited from event management courtesy of PSSI/Strategic, as well as HD satellite-fiber broadcast services and coordination with all pay-per-view outlets. The company also provided HD Ku- and C-Band satellite services for the MTV Networks/Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards in Los Angeles.
Strategic Television was on-site in Fresno, CA, for Showtime’s HD ShoMMA and in Detroit for the Super Six World Classic Boxing on Showtime to provide HD and fiber encoding. It also provided uplink and project management for boxing on Fox from Ensenada, Mexico.
