NAB Preview: Stagetec To Debut New HDI Interface Card for NEXUS Router

New at Salzbrenner Stagetec’s booth will be the XHDI-02 card, the second-generation HDI interface for the NEXUS router. It is an audio embedder/de-embedder card for video signals compliant with SMPTE 259M (SD), SMPTE 292M (HD), and SMPTE 424M/425M (3G). It provides a total of 16 I/O audio channels at 20 or 24 bits to SMPTE 272M-AC (SD) or SMPTE 299M (HD/3G) standards and can accept both synchronous and asynchronous HD/3G video signals. In HD/3G mode, the XDHI-02 card has a special function that aligns the audio blocks in embedding/de-embedding modes.

For greater flexibility, the new XHDI-02 card is available in BNC or fiber-optic (LC, single-mode) versions. De-embedded audio is available for routing across the whole NEXUS network, it can be routed channel by channel to any combination of audio outputs (MADI, AES, analog, TDIF, etc.) and to any other XHDI card for embedding. The card offers video pass through — with video delay from 0 to 15 frames (SD), 0-8 frames (HD/3G) if needed. On-board DSP is available for processing (gain, noise-shaping) on all audio channels.

Stagetec’s NEXUS digital audio router system has a distributed modular structure that ensures brilliant sound, absolute and intuitive control, and optimum reliability. It offers a full contingent of audio and communication interfaces and is typically found in master-control rooms, broadcast studios, OB trucks, and live-performance centers.

Also on display will be the newest member of the Stagetec digital-console family: CRESCENDO. Designed for the live and broadcast markets where space for a mixing console is often a luxury, it is a compact yet fully loaded digital console offering unsurpassed visual feedback, flexibility in console architecture and pristine workmanship.
