Front Porch, Vizrt Team Up on Asset Management Solution
Front Porch Digital and its partner Vizrt have integrated the Viz Video Hub version 2.1 media asset management (MAM) software with the DIVArchive content storage management (CSM) solution.
With Viz Video Hub integrated with DIVArchive, media companies can archive large amounts of video assets directly within Viz Video Hub. Use of DIVArchive as the storage manager controlling digital tape libraries and long-term storage allows Viz Video Hub to store large amounts of video. Users can view and edit the material using proxy versions, rather than deal with disk or tape storage.
Front Porch Digital’s DIVArchive is a middleware solution that supports preservation, management, and retrieval of media content by enabling interoperability between digital media storage devices, video servers, editing systems, and digital media workflow applications.
“Our collaboration with Vizrt gives our global customers two best-of-breed applications working in a proven integration,” says Rino Petricola, SVP and managing director of Front Porch Digital. “Customers realize immediate efficiency benefits because the integrated solution enables instant access to content and metadata. It integrates seamlessly with external information sources, and it allows the creation of highly optimized workflows that rationalize both production and organizational processes.”
Viz Video Hub is an out-of-the-box MAM system. It is easy to set up, use, and expand. Viz Video Hub allows users to store every type of media file, including video clips, pictures, graphics, and even audio files. Viz Video Hub also handles live HD feeds, videotapes (including tape-robot integration), FTP file-import, and many other methods of file ingest.
“Vizrt’s partnership with Front Porch Digital reflects our commitment to offer our customers best-of-breed media asset management solutions,” says Charlotta Nilsson, EVP, professional services at Vizrt. “We believe that working together we can offer broadcasters a more robust, global, end-to-end solution ranging from cataloging to indexing, archiving, editing, browsing, and distribution. In fact, our two companies have already begun to deploy integrated media asset management solutions for a number of broadcast installations in Europe and in Asia Pacific.”
