SNY Utilizes Orad’s MVP for Live Mets Coverage

SNY is using Orad’s latest version of MVP for live coverage of this season’s New York Mets broadcasts. The Orad MVP sports enhancement system provides SNY with near real-time enhancement capabilities.

“Last year, SNY became the first regional sports network in the country to implement Orad’s MVP solution for live MLB telecasts,” says Curt Gowdy Jr., SNY’s SVP and executive producer. “We’re excited to extend our relationship with Orad and have upgraded our version of MVP for this season’s coverage as part of our continuing efforts to enhance the viewer experience.”

With the latest version of MVP, SNY can continue to use the same features as last season — such as the Coors Freeze Cam and speed and distance trackers — as well as new, faster and easy-to-operate on-air graphics. In addition, the upgraded MVP platform offers a new graphics asset library, which provides ready-made graphics as well as a quick retrieval of any stored graphics created by SNY’s production team.

“SNY continues to recognize the value of MVP to its viewers, advertisers, and sponsors,” says Avi Sharir, president and CEO of Orad Hi-Tec Systems. “Our latest release of MVP provides even more captivating visual effects, an improved creative toolset to enhance live sports productions, and a much faster workflow. This gives SNY the ability to offer sponsors and viewers the highest standard of on-air graphics throughout this season’s Mets coverage, as well as a competitive edge over other broadcasters in the region.”

The SD- and HD-compatible MVP graphics platform enables SNY producers to devise and implement their own graphics at any time during the game and throughout the upcoming Mets season, even during a live television broadcast. MVP relies on image tracking instead of camera modifications, making it simple to both set-up and to operate. Using a simple GUI, any object or play — such as a baseball or close play at home plate — can be tracked and enhanced.
