The Studio – B&H Sets Up Shop at NAB
Story Highlights
In its first visit to the NAB Show, The Studio, a new division of B&H, is focused on building its brand and developing some relationships.
“This is our first real presence at the show, so we’re looking to get this brand out there and get our name out there at NAB,” says Kevin Reagan, general manager of The Studio – B&H. “It’s been great so far. What we chose to highlight has been drawing a lot of attention.”
Its Central Hall booth provides a taste of what is in The Studio showroom in New York: two Sony cameras, the SRW-9000 and 1500 studio camera; a few cinema setups; and an Element Technica 3D rig feeding a live 3D stream through a 3ality Digital replay device to a JVC monitor.
“We have a lot more in our showroom back in New York,” Reagan explains, noting that, for this show, connecting with people is more important than bringing out stuff.
“We want to develop relationships, because this business is about developing relationships and having our brand earn respect,” he says. “It’s not just about having the product and shipping it to somebody; it’s about providing a solution by working with them and providing what they need.”
