Big Screen Network Bids Farewell to Rosenblatt Stadium

As the NCAA’s exclusive video board production company, Big Screen Network Productions (BSN) will helm the in-game entertainment for the farewell to Rosenblatt Stadium at the 2010 College World Series (CWS) in June. BSN will pay special tribute to the history and tradition of the event that has made its home in Rosenblatt for the last 58 years. Next year, the city of Omaha will continue its long-time tradition of hosting the College World Series, but will do so at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha, expected to open in 2011.

“With the partnership developed over the years between BSN and the NCAA, we couldn’t think of a better way to help with the delivering of messages commemorating Rosenblatt Stadium than using BSN’s talent,” says Damani Leech, NCAA Director of Baseball. “We plan to rely heavily on BSN’s proven results to display the growth and evolution of the College World Series over the last 60 years at Rosenblatt.”

BSN will also continue production for all spring NCAA National Championships following a winter championships season in April that included the Men’s and Women’s Final Four, the Frozen Four, and women’s gymnastics.  BSN is now on to the spring national championships, which include Men’s Volleyball, Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse, and Men’s and Women’s College World Series.

“The saying, ’Love of the Game,’ goes a long way at BSN,” says Bob Becker, BSN’s EVP. “This is what we love to do and our team never loses focus on providing high-quality graphics and programming content for every show we produce and direct.”

For the fourth straight year, BSN will be the video board entertainment at this year’s NCAA spring National Championships for Div. I, Div. II and Div. III.  In the course of spring National Championships, BSN has already traveled to Stanford, CA, and will soon travel to Omaha, NE, Baltimore, MD, and Oklahoma City, OK, to produce in-game entertainment for the NCAA’s most talked about spring sporting events. On site at each location, BSN provides a production team of producers, directors, and editors, while BSN production staff prepares shows for other spring National Championships including Outdoor Track and Field, Rowing, and Tennis.

Working alongside NCAA senior staff, BSN creates the video content, animations, and scripts for all National Championships, including graphics for ribbon boards and video screens.  From on-site producers, directors and editors to graphic artists and designers, BSN’s team works directly with the local venues to provide optimum levels of production, operation, technical support, and crew.

“From the first day of the season to the last, BSN feels a great responsibility in helping the NCAA present the best-possible experience at National Championships for each student-athlete, fan, supporter, corporate champion and corporate partner,” says Paul Kalil, BSN’s President/CEO.  “With Rosenblatt Stadium hosting its historic final College World Series, we are especially anxious to help pay tribute to such a great American tradition.”
