PESA’s PRO-HDMI-BNC Extenders Promises to Extend HDMI Over Coax Up to 60m
PESA has released the PRO-HDMI-BNC extenders for transporting HDMI 1.2 over a single coax cable. As part of the new PESA PRO product line, the PRO-HDMI-BNC extends HDMI signals long distance over coax. These extenders enable users to easily connect HDMI sources such as Blu-Ray disc players, DVD players, DVR recorders, satellite TV set-top boxes, HDMI cameras, computers, and gaming consoles to any HDMI compliant display. For existing coax-based serial digital routing systems using SMPTE 292M or 424M transports, the PRO-HDMI-BNC is a cost effective solution to transport HDMI sources to HDMI displays over the HD/3G-SDI switching system.
The PRO-HDMI-BNC extender set consists of a transmitter and receiver module. The HDMI transmitter box includes an HDMI input slot and 75 Ohm BNC output port. The receiver box connects to an HDMI compliant display and receives the transmitted signal through an industrial RG-6 coax cable- equivalent to Belden 1694a. By using standard 75 Ohm coax cable, the HDMI over a single coax extender can transport uncompressed signals up to 60m.
These HDMI extenders support HDMI 1.2 with 5.1 or 7.1 digital audio, full HD resolution support for 480i, 576i, 720p, 1080i and 1080p60. Each module includes a two position DIP switch to set EDID learning capabilities. The compact modules include screw flanges to allow easy mounting to table bases or wall mounts. Power is supplied by the included 5V power plug.
