Fresh Off HBO Boxing Gig, NES Communication Systems Signs On as SVG Sponsor

The Sports Video Group is pleased to welcome its newest sponsor, NES Communication Services. NES has a long history of helping broadcasters worldwide transmit sporting events. From strategic launch points in the Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington areas, its fleet of mobile-uplink/production vehicles offers coverage of live sports in the Upper Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, and Northeast regions. NES’s transmission capabilities include C- and Ku-band mobile uplinks, satellite Fly-A-Ways, transportable downlinks, and HD-encoding kits. NES regularly provides transmission services for professional and college sports for all major broadcasters and cable networks.

“NES is pleased to join SVG to further expand our 30-year relationship with the professionals in the sports market,” says NES GM Keith Valeri. “NES joined the Sports Video Group to assist in the launch of our new HD C-band uplink truck. We feel that SVG is the perfect forum to introduce this new C-band truck, as it was designed from the ground up with sports broadcasters in mind.”

NES was recently chosen to provide services for HBO’s World Championship Boxing. The event consisted of sites in Montreal and Atlantic City, NJ. The service offering comprised NES-owned and -operated Ku- and C-band uplinks in Montreal and a Ku uplink paired with a 3.7m and 2.4m downlink in Atlantic City.

“The majority of our sports work with the Ku trucks has been supporting college sports, but the introduction of our new HD C-band truck has provided the opportunity for NES to participate in several high-profile professional events over the past six months,” says Valeri. “As a result, NES decided to join SVG to further develop our relationships as we expand into this new market.”
